A prior information notice has been issued by the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a contract to provide technical advisory services to the Armenian government.
To be tendered in March, the objective of the contract is to support the government in implementing water sector reforms through PPP.
The Armenian government has decided to restructure the sector along a model featuring one operator under a PPP lease agreement and one asset holder, the State Committee of Water Economy.
The winner of the €700,000 contract will perform assets inventory and registration required for the procurement of a PPP operator in 2016. The assignment will cover water supply and sanitation schemes situated all over the country including the capital, Yerevan.
Finance for the contract is being provided by the EIB’s Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund (EPTATF).
In November 2014 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development launched a tender for a PPP consultant to advise the State Committee for Water Systems. The consultant is expected to start in March.
