The President of Brazil has announced that the federal government is preparing a new portfolio of infrastructure investments for the private sector.
Speaking at the first ministerial meeting of her second term, Dilma Rousseff said that the government will increase the pipeline of highway, waterway, airport and port concessions (including dredging).
Rousseff also announced that three million homes will be constructed by 2018 under her ‘My House My Life’ social housing programme, while the ‘Broadband for All’ program will also continue.
The President also defended the government’s probe into Petrobras. In November sources say that the ongoing corruption scandal at the state-run oil firm could see growth of the P3 pipeline stall as investigations into the allegations continue. Rousseff’s election victory over Aecio Neves was also viewed as a blow to the ongoing and future pipeline.
