Four in running for Goa port PPP

Four major infrastructure groups are in contention for the bidding of the dredging PPP project at Goa port, India.

The project involves the deepening of draft at Mormugao Port in Goa and is the first time such a project has been done through PPP at a major port in India.

The firms competing for the project are Adani Ports, JSW Steel, Mercator Lines and Dharti Dredgers and Infrastructure.

Under the PPP contract, the winning bidder will bear the cost of the project and would contribute to the revenue of the port as the terminal operator may collect higher charges from vessels.

Elsewhere in Goa the government recently extended the deadline for the Mopa Airport PPP.
