Tender out for Lithuanian cargo port PPP

 

The tender for the market consultation phase of the Marvele cargo port PPP has been revealed by the Lithuanian government.

 

The draft tender documents have been set by The Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications. Now they are looking for interested parties who will submit their feedback until 8 May.

 

Located on the River Nemunas in Kaunas, it will provide a potential turnover of one million tons per year is expected for the cargo port.

 

The project is being completed in two stages. The first stage will be completed by July 2015, will be funded by the EU and the state as it is a traditional procurement project.

 

Stage two will be a PPP concession. Capital investment in the project is €11m, and public funds have already been assigned to keep access roads to the port and to ensure the stated fairway depth of the Nemunas is keep up.

 

An invitation to tender will be published on 1 June.
